Volunteer in the Hispanic Community

The Department of Spanish partners with local organizations to coordinate volunteer opportunities for students interested in working with the Hispanic community in Winston-Salem. By volunteering in the community, students are able to improve their Spanish-speaking abilities.
Tertulia

Come to Greene 317 the first Tuesday of the month during the semester from 3:30-4:30 for the tertulia or an informal Spanish conversation hour led by Wake Forest Spanish professors and open to students and faculty with any level of Spanish ability.
The department of Spanish and Italian offers extracurricular activities every semester that give students the opportunity to practice their Spanish outside of class and/or to learn more about Hispanic culture. They can include music, movies, sports, food and more. Check out the calendar on our website for specific dates and times.
